Chapter Sixteen

It was interesting that Gypsy and Porter had a real conversation (pages 143-144).  It was even more interesting that Gypsy said to him, "I don't want to be Love Ball Dotson's good little girl all the time!"  What do you make of this whole conversation, what it meant, and why it happened?

  1. I think the conversation meant that she does not want to be the person her mom wants her to be she wants to be her. It happend because she was swearing and she wanted woodrow to get in trouble.

  5. I don't think she wants to be be that girl that everyone thinks is perfect. She wants to have adventures and most of all, get her hair cut. But her mom disagrees.
