It was interesting that Gypsy and Porter had a real conversation (pages 143-144). It was even more interesting that Gypsy said to him, "I don't want to be Love Ball Dotson's good little girl all the time!" What do you make of this whole conversation, what it meant, and why it happened?

Chapter Sixteen
Why do you think Woodrow grew so agitated (pages 138-139) when Gypsy asked what had happened to the thirty bucks he had saved?
Chapter Sixteen
Do you think Woodrow should have have been punished for what he did at the garden party to Mrs. Cooper? Do you think Gypsy had a right to be upset that he wasn't? Please be sure to explain your thinking.
Chapter Fifteen
On page 125, Gypsy muses that Woodrow "was interested in everything and almost everybody, and the way he looked at things with fresh eyes made me see them fresh too." What do you think she meant by that?
